Let me begin this review by telling you that I waited months to write: until I actually had check in hand for at least a few of the items that I had consigned there out of genuine concern that I would never receive payment for anything I had taken in . Here's a recap of my experience: Last April (Yes, that"s 8 months ago) I took in a sizable number of items including 20+ pieces of Mikasa crystal (in a pattern currently selling at Replacements.com for between $5.00 and $30 per stem) and 3 wall mounted glass door display cases currently selling new on Amazon for $97.00 each. Knowing that it would take a few months to sell such a large quantity of items; I waited until September to request my check. When I inquired they told me first that I had missed the cutoff date for a check that month by one day and that I was due about $50.00. I told them that couldn't possibly be right The salesperson then began to review with me the items that were credited to my account. Not even 1/4 of what I had brought in was listed. At this point even she was surprised because she had remembered specifically some of my items including the display cases and a large metal baker's rack. It took three calls for them to locate and credit my account with less than 1/2 of my originally consigned items Had I been less trusting (and forewarned byYelp!) I would have at least photograghed and logged each individual item before I released it to them As it was luckily I had some pictures to prove my case I hope the next person to deal with this business sues them for theft and takes them to court Should someone need additional support in this regard, please feel free to contact me Businesses like Seconds City give legitimate consignment retailers a bad reputation and should be put out of business.
