  • Common Market is a neighborhood general store and deli. Ive heard it described as the local country store where you can purchase a fried fish sandwich the likes of which you will never find again. In the case of Common Market, local seafood is repliced with a wide selection of New York Style Deli options. Unlike other local delis, Common infuses vegan, gluten free and organic options to the menu. It gives you a small town feel in the midst of one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. The old style fish and tackle store without the hooks and cane. The real deal in Charlotte. People hold on to the establishment as a local icon. The Deli options are inventive and there is a wall of odities that would remind Xenials of Spencers, but kid friendly. The patio is dog friendly and parking continues to be accesable despite the unique location in the heart of Plaza Midwood. Roco used to be my favorite Columbian styled, purveyors of incredible Carribean sauces. It still is but Common Market has it all. Almond milk to vegan cookies form part of the multilayered inventory of this one of a kind, hybrid market deli. The staff is brilliant and always attentive. The enviorment is dynamic and diverse. Moreover, the arts and local artist are supported by the neighborhood.
