| - Word to the wise; the counter girls are pretty rude. I would suggest the La Prairie location instead.
I've been to Club Proform in Delson a handful of times, and pretty well every time I have been, one of the front desk girls has been exceptionally catty and rude, with no particular provocation on my part. The only reason I go is because my brother goes to this one, and it's convenient to go with another person.
I had a 20-trip card that was given to me with 5 trips remaining, and subsequently used those at Proform Delson. On the last trip, I asked the girl if they still offered the 20-trip pass at 100$, as that's what was paid the last time. She responded, with more snobbish tone than I would have liked, that in fact they do offer the pass, but it was now at 160$ plus taxes. I simple polite explanation would have sufficed, instead of a snooty rebuttal, but I digress. Not wanting to pay the 160$, my dad offered to give me his 3 free trials he was given with his membership. I used one upon my last visit, and wouldn't you know it, the same girl was there. She took it, and said the next time you come, you have to pay (again with her ridiculous attitude). I explained that my father had given me the free trials and didn't understand why I couldn't use them, since they are a free "gift" given with a costly membership. She said that it didn't matter that because I had already been several times, it wasn't really a free trial. My plan is to avoid this location and check out the others (i.e. La Prairie or Candiac). I've been to the La Prairie location before and liked the atmosphere better (read: no nasty b!tches).
Another aspect of the Delson location I don't particularly care for is the mass amounts of "meat heads" and bimbos that attend; a meat head, by my definition, is a young male adult who works solely on their biceps, shoulders and chest (and doing the exercises all wrong mind you), and a bimbo being, well, a bimbo that stands around done up to the nines whose biggest workout is flirting and watching the guys "workout".
All things aside, what I go for is the equipment; my sole purpose of going to the gym is to use the treadmill and stair climber. During the winter/cold, I don't enjoy running outside, so I find shelter in the gym to have my release of endorphins. It serves its purpose for this, and only this.
I would not recommend this place to others because I feel that attention is only paid to girls/women of a similar nature and men.
What I find particularly enraging is that I explained yesterday's situation to my brother, and he thought it strange because he brings a female friend along sometimes, who always ends up getting let in for free. Troubling at best.
