  • 3.5 stars. My husband and I went to Blue Restaurant the other night because we have never been there and there was also a Groupon ($25 for $50). We made reservations in-advance, but the place was less than half full- we came on a Monday so that probably explains why. We were seated right away and our server greeted us with water and fresh bread. The bread came with a kalamata olive butter. My husband hated it because he hates olives, but I thought it was good. I'm sure if we asked for regular butter they would have accommodated the request. For a started we got the calamari with the lemon digging sauce. The calamari was good, but nothing that stood out from the ordinary- just fried, but the sauce was delicious. For dinner we both ordered off of the seasonal menu. I got the duo plate of scallops (2) and pork (2) served in a bed of mashed sweet potatoes and greens. The plate was delicious and decent size even though it only came with 2 scallops- but they were HUGE! The pork fell apart instantly and the apple sauce that accommodated it was tasty. My husband got the grouper with a crab/lobster filled cannoli. His dish was delicious and blew mine out of the water. I think I enjoyed the lighter taste of his as mine was quite heavy. You could tell the seafood was of good quality and again the portion was large. Both of our dishes ranged from $26-$35. We decided to not have drinks that night and our total was still $85- which I thought was super pricey for only 2 meals and an app. If I didn't have the Groupon, I would think it was overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area. Also, for being a "Mediterranean" restaurant I didn't see many Med dishes on the menu. I'm glad I went, but I only think I would be back for their Happy Hour specials as they offer 1/2 off apps.
