  • OK, I really want to love this place, so much so that I keep going back. The positives: The pints are good and the atmosphere is very decent. The ugly: If you serve basic Irish food, you can't really screw it up - except at O'Donoghues. I've had the Irish breakfast twice. My guess is that they throw the whole damn thing in the deep fryer - awful. Thankfully the took the seared ahi tuna off the menu....seared? It was broiled. Shepherds pie? Lumpy and tasteless - I know Irish food can be bland, but not modern Irish food! Net: Beer is great...food is not just awful, it's terrible. It's clear that the food is an afterthought.
