| - Reason No. 4621387634 why I NEED to move to Toronto
I cry because Boston doesn't have anything that even holds a CANDLE to the St. Lawrence Market. Haymarket? That's last year's TRASH compared to St. Lawrence. Not even regular farmer's markets compare, even though I love them.
Where to start? ...Oh I know, MEAT. I've never seen so much MEAT in my LIFE. Every kind of meat imaginable. I saw pig legs as big as my head. I saw kielbasa advertised 10 for $10. Delis and cheeses and bakeries OH MY. Fresh fruit and veggies, spices, grains, coffee beans galore!! (Are you suffering from food overload yet?) PEAMEAL BACON (Makes me not want to go back to regular bacon again).
I wonder why there are no real grocery stores in the area, it's because you can do your entire food shopping RIGHT HERE, and probably pay a fraction of the price.
Also, FOOD STANDS, I had the best bagel in my life, one of the best crepes in my life, stared at some of the most delicious periogies in my life, had some of the strongest coffee in my life and tasted some of the most delicious pastries in my life.
Not only that, but on Saturday's starting a 5 AM there is the MOTHER of Farmer's Markets. Oh my, thinking about the good eats I had there is making me want to jump on the next plane back to Toronto. And they were so cheap!!! Many farmer's markets in Boston jack up their prices for pastries, and while I understand they need to make a living, the fact of the matter is the pastries here were 10x cheaper and 10x better.
I'm not done yet! On Sundays they have a huge flea market!! Canadian trinkets! Vintage Playboy magazines! Chinese jewelry! Knockoff and potentially real designer handbags!
So much happens here that you would have to be basically dead to not want to come and experience the glory of St. Lawrence Market. Boston went down a significant number of notches once I set my eyes on the beauty that is St. Lawrence Market.
