  • Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix might very well be one of the best public spaces in the city. Part historic square with turn of the 20th century architecture and part cultural and dining plaza, Heritage Square is like a blast from the past. History and architectural buffs will enjoy the Rosson House Museum which gives daily tours as well as the restored businesses along side it that now house some of the city's best restaurants. Pizzeria Bianco is well worth the wait, but to make your wait more tolerable, be sure to drop into Bar Bianco next door for a drink. Across from the bar, is the Teeter House. Formerly the last authentic Victorian Tea House in Arizona, the Teeter House now houses Nobuou, a Japanese restaurant. And just next door to them, The Rose and Crown-- a beautifully restore house-turned-British pub. My favorite times to visit Heritage Square are during sunset during the spring and summer, as well as whenever they have great festivals and events such as live music and the Japanese Matsuri Fest. Great for families, days out by yourself, and romantic dates. I've even seen people get married here.
