| - Ellsworth Street Social Club had a Groupon special so after procrastinating about getting a haircut for the last 2 months, I decided to try the place out. I like the idea of booking an appointment online. However, when I tried to book an appointment by phone, they said that you can only book an appointment online. Hmmm.
So I came to the place, parking was very easy, not a lot of customers probably because there was only 1 person working there. The ambience was nice, geared for a hip crowd. Had a bunch of chairs in the waiting area that weren't the most comfortable. I personally prefer cushy chairs and sofas to relax before any appointment. The haircut provided was very quick, professional, although not exactly a social interaction and no conversation.. Ironic considering the name of the place. I didn't mind since I wanted a quick and good haircut.
I didn't give a higher rating primarily because of the inaccurate advertising the place gave in Groupon. In Groupon, the advertising stated that you get a haircut, shampoo, and hair product. When I mentioned what was advertised in Groupon and then looked at the actual voucher, they stated something different.
Bottom line: for the Groupon price, it was good albeit not the most fun experience I've ever had when getting a haircut. Not the most important thing to me but I've felt more relaxed after a dentist appointment. For their regular price, I probably could do better. It's a shame because the place seems like a cool place and you also want a new business to do well.
