| - I've always wanted to stay at the Aladdin Hotel, but when I heard that it had been renovated and changed to Planet Hollywood, I was actually quite surprised, but to be honest, I like the change! I stayed here just recently and saw the difference between the old decor vs. the new and let me say THANK GOODNESS for the renovations!
If you're into the nightlife and love the whole celebrity/Hollywood vibe scene, then I think you'll enjoy your stay at Planet Hollywood Casino & Resort. When arriving at this hotel, you might be a little confused on where to enter to get to the lobby. I figured that all the hotel garages are right behind the hotel so it wasn't much of a problem for me to find it. Be aware that you will have to enter through the Miracle Mile Mall from the parking garage to get to the casino/lobby of PH.
Check in is at 3PM and for my husband and I, it wasn't a problem at all. We didn't even wait in line to check-in. We had a complimentary room upgrade included in our suite package, but unfortunately they had no more available so we stuck with our resort suite located in the south tower. Free champagne was also included, but we had so much fun that we forgot about it. The room was really clean and fairly huge for 2 people alone. We had a view of the strip so I really have no complaints. The HD tv is nice especially when you're watching the Playoffs! Who needs to leave the room when you have that luxury!?!
The casino is pretty lively throughout the day/night. There are go-go dancers dancing on platforms in the middle of all the tables and slot machines so it gives you some eye candy haha. Another thing I've noticed is that they have a plasma tv on everything you can think of so you're not missing a thing (especially when it comes to football). It's pretty roomy and with the mall being attached, you have a lot of choices on places to eat, drink, & lounge. My hubby and I spent a lot of time in this hotel. We partied the night before at Palms and spent the rest at PH since it seems to have everything aside from free entertainment in the mall.
The one thing I would have to say that wasn't to my liking was the Spice Market Buffet. I think it was overpriced for the quality of food that they serve. It wasn't fresh nor was it #1 in my book. I don't really know how they were voted #1 in 2007, but if I were you, I would eat inside the Miracle Mile Mall because their restaurants are good!!! If you eat inside the casino, expect to pay $10 for a mimosa! That was at Planet Dailies for any of you wondering.
Aside from the buffet being on the downside, everything else is great in my book. There are a variety of things to do in the hotel/casino/mall if you take advantage of it and have the money to spend, so I'd have to say my husband and I were both pleased with our stay at PH.
