(score 1-100) - 75. Uniqueness Factor: This building was built for Expo 67 or the Worlds Fair Expo 67. It is a historically significant building that was converted to be the largest Casino in Canada.
It drives me nuts when people review the Casino and complain about the layout... it was an Expo building, they wanted to maintain much of it's historical integrity while creating a use at the same time. OMG... you have to walk to multiple floors to experience the entire casino, wow something different. I think the weirdness makes it unique.
There are no penny slots and but their business model is heavy on slot machines and just a few areas for the tables. I love roulette and there are only a couple of tables. Weekend nights can get packed during certain hours (9-11) pm but this place is open 24 hours so you can wait for the crowd to leave if you are patient and have hours to blow.
The food is very casino level, meaning bland and very average. There are so many great dining options in the city don't waste a culinary experience here.
Parking is free and you must drive out to the casino because it off on it's own, sort of in the middle of no-where, and yes on an island!
