  • As far as arenas go, this one is pretty awesome. My mom has season tickets to the Coyotes, since she was born and raised in Minnesota, and is way into hockey. I am a girl who also loves to go see a good hockey game, my dad on the other hand has no interest in sports, so I go to games with my mom a lot. I usually stick to Saturday games, since I am too busy on school nights. I have been there for games when the place was packed, and it has always gone well. Parking is free and rarely an issue, which is a miracle at any arena. The lines move really fast going in, even on nights when they are giving free crap away. What am I supposed to do with a Coyotes alarm clock? I put the giveaway stuff in my classroom, or give it away to my students. I am definitely not decorating my house with sports chachkies! It is easy to move around inside the arena, I never have to wait long for the bathroom, and I always have a great view of the game. Except for when some asshole sits in from of me, and stands up every 5 seconds. Sure you stand up for a fight, and when they score, but every once in a while some tool just stands up constantly. I'm all of 5ft 2in, but I've actually had to tell a couple of guys like this to chill on the standing constantly so I could see too. I'm sure in Detroit the guy might have an attitude, but I've had pretty good results when I ask nicely. Maybe it's the boobs? ;) The food choices are OK, it's an arena after all, but you can get Boar's Head meat products, so that is good. Alcohol is typically priced, I am guessing some people may have flasks. The two negatives for me are the location and the lack of hot drinks and alcohol. It takes me and hour to get there from Old Town yuck, and at every little ice rink in Austria they serve hot tea or cider with all different kinds of alcohol. Why can't the arena do this? Hot tea and Peppermint Schnapps would be so perfect at a cold, winter hockey game!
