Cave Creek is a muni track located in the north central part of Phoenix.
Compared to the high end courses in the valley, the green fees are very good. The have a driving range & a putting green. Also on site is a pro shop & cafe.
The course layout is decent with a couple holes with large carries off the tee and water comes into play on a number of holes.
When I played the fairways were in decent shape. The rough was either dormant or non-existence. Often you will be hitting off hard pan. However, the greens were in great shape, very fast and tough. The greens have a lot of tiers and breaks on every putt.
The only real knock on this course is traveling from hole to hole. Their isn't a cart path. So often you are traveling on rutted paths that make for an unpleasant experience.
