  • My appointment is scheduled for next week, but I've already had an awful time dealing with SimonMed employees. Everyone I've dealt with over the phone has been incompetent at best, including a supervisor I asked to speak with. To be clear, I am not reviewing the technicians or the facility, just the scheduling staff and their supervisors. I need to get an MRI for my foot and have been trying to schedule it since January 8. I am in a lot of pain and my orthopedic doctor cannot perform any treatment until we get the MRI results. I called SimonMed on the 8th to schedule, but they advised they had not received the order from my foot doctor. I spoke with the foot doctor on the 10th and they stated that the order was sent and I could schedule the MRI with SimonMed. They said it was approved by my insurance, and to contact SimonMed. My foot doctor gave me a direct line to call for the person who deals with all of their patients. I called on January 11th and 12th and left a message with the woman. Her voicemail states she will return the call within 8 business hours. Friday (the 12th) afternoon, I called SimonMed main scheduling line and spoke to an operator. They could not find my records anywhere and therefore couldn't schedule the MRI. Monday the 15th was MLK day so I didn't call. I called again Tuesday 16th and left another message for the woman. Then, I called the main scheduling line again. I spoke to another operator who couldn't find my file, but he offered to get up and go talk to the lady who hadn't been returning my calls. THANK GOD he was willing to do this, otherwise I might still be waiting for my appointment. It turns out that the woman who works with my foot doctor took a verbal order, rather than a fax order, from my doctor. She didn't put it into their computer system, so nobody else could access it. Due to this mistake, I waited an extra week to get scheduled. The helpful operator scheduled me for the next day, the 17th and I hung up happy. Thirty minutes later, someone else calls me and says that my insurance has not approved the MRI and they have to cancel my appointment for the next day. The person stated it would be approx. 5 business days before they could schedule me. My understanding up to this point was once my foot doctor sent the order over to SimonMed, it had already been approved by the insurance company. My foot doctor told me they had approval from the insurance company. Something's not adding up. So... my appointment is scheduled for the 24th, two weeks after SimonMed first got my file. I was so frustrated and had many questions, so I asked to speak with a supervisor and made a formal complaint about the woman who works with my foot doctor. Why didn't she return my three calls? Why didn't she put my information into the computer system so someone else could access my records and help me? Why is she so incompetent?! The supervisor was of no use, and the time I spent talking with her was a waste. Unfortunately my insurance wants me to go through SimonMed for MRI and x-rays. If I had any choice in the matter, I'd never ever EVER return. 0 stars competency 0 stars service
