| - My buddies and I were passing thru Madison on our way to the Dells and a friend recommended this place so we decided to stop for lunch in this awesome college town. This place is so cool, nice vintage woodworks throughout gives its a turn of the century, Prohibition era vibe. They were even playing old black and white movies on the TV which I thought was so cool, then they started showing girls Wisconsin volleyball which was hot too LOL... anyways we ordered some beers from the awesome tap selection, my friend had one of the $10 cocktails, it was good but he thought it was too much $ it was worth a $7-8 dollars, maybe... The food was amazing. We had the sample basket with fried mushrooms, onion rings, cheese curds, french fries and fried mac n cheese bites. Good fried stuff for sure. Get the English garlic mayo or the boomerang sauce, great stuff! We all had burgers, I had the Pub burger it was awesome with like an onion bacon jam and cheese and pickles... so delicious. Had it medium rare and it was just delicious. My buddies had the kobe burger, forgot the name but that was excellent too. That burger was like $12 mine was $8... totally on point with price. But you have to pay extra for sides which is dumb. I mean they make a killing at bar do you really have to charge for fries?? We also has the chili... mine with cheese melted on top and sprinkled with onions and sour cream... sooooo goood! It was the best chili I had in a long time. Its got tri-tip meat, oh my sooo gooood. A few of us thought it could have a little more kick'n heat to it but if you enjoy chili, you will walk away saying you loved it. I highly recommend it, especially during the cold winter months! Being from Chicago, there are no shortage of great places to eat but being out in Madison - this place is a must try!! Highly recommended and we will be back!!!
