  • We brought our feline in for a blood transfusion. Apparently they are one of the few vets in town with a regular supply of types a and b, so rather than taking him somewhere else to get typed and then have them hunt for blood, we went to the source! All of the staff that worked with us were friendly and professional. I was given two estimates (both of which were higher than the range given to me over the phone, but whatever). I had to pay in full before treatment, which surprised me because there were some "may be needed" items that I had to pay for in advance and weren't needed. They had to refund me the balance after. I'm used to paying half up-front, but I understand why they'd want full payment. The transfusion went well, and we really appreciate the service provided. They communicated well with my husband and me while we waited for it to be done, and agreed with us that our cat is awesome. My only recommendation is that they see patients of this nature as appointments, not just as an emergency. I had to drive to Gilbert from North Phoenix and would have felt better with an appointment time, ensuring the doctor was up-to-date on our case before arriving. It was a long drive! We had sent the paperwork in advance the day before, and asked what time would be best to bring him (before 7 a.m.), and arrived at 6:45 a.m., but it was clear that they didn't expect us, and that the vet who saw him hadn't read his records yet. I get it - because it's considered an emergency - but an appointment would have been more efficient for everyone involved.
