I am an avid moviegoer but quite discerning in my choice of movie theaters. For some time now I have watched movies exclusively at iPic theaters primarily for their comfortable recliners. But that at $25 a pop is rather overpriced.
So a few weeks ago I checked out AMC Desert Ridge. Mon Dieu. What a find. Excellent recliner seating and well equipped concessions. High quality sound system.
So the last 6 movies in the last 4 weeks have been at this theater. They have a great line up and it is in the District area which provides a number of excellent dining options.
I actually even signed up for their Stubbs Premiere loyalty program that offers real benefits (a mere $15 annually).
The only beef I have with this place is that service at the concessions is consistently slow, molasses slow. And most of the time it is due to inadequate staffing. But I am willing to live with that as it is more than compensated for by the very comfortable interiors.
So bye bye iPic.
