Having lived in Germany for many years my expectations for the Waldhorn were pretty high. They delivered! It's often difficult to find an authentic and good German restaurant in the States, but this place comes as close to the real deal as you can get.
The menu covers the standard fare you would expect and has something for everyone (including small portion plates). They bring homemade "pretzel-style" bread when you sit down - which is delicious. It's also very nice to see so many selections for beer (and on tap!).
Mautaschen is just as good as you'd find in Rheinland Pfalz and the Schnitzel Weiner Art has no equal for the Charlotte area. We also highly recommend the Rolladen. The house salad is prepared in the traditional manner- so don't change the dressing!
We frequent the Waldhorn about four times a year and it's our go-to place to bring out-of-town visitors. If you can't get to Deutschland, but still want the cuisine- here's your place.
