My below-average rating is due to my most recent visit. I've been here a handful of times as the location is quite convenient to the theatre venues in town. Food is decent, but good food isn't hard to come by so it's really the service that makes the experience in my opinion. Our party of 7 has a reservation at noon before a 2p show last week. We were all on time and seated promptly and there were NOT many people there until probably 15-30 min after our arrival. Our waiter Gabe was never overly friendly and our drinks were empty (both waters and paid beverages) more than full. Many of us had to ask for refills. I ordered a burger done medium and when it was brought out, it was burned. Not well done -burned. When I told the waiter, he looked at me disgusted and *literally* didn't say a word, just walked away with my plate. Who I assume was the manager came over probably 10 min later and gave a half apology, blamed being busy and having a new chef. She did comp my wine but I never expected that. Lunch took so long that we walked into our show at the Byham (...next door) just 10 min before the show started. Very underwhelmed at this point and uncertain on returning. I am however attaching a picture of my scallops from a previous dinner there that were delicious.
