  • Our heat pump broke down on us last evening - one of the fan blades was almost sheared off - and our Home Warranty Company roulette came up with Schmidt's AC Service as the contractor assigned to us in a priority situation. I immediately looked for reviews on this site and others and was not impressed to say the least. After about one hour, I called and left a message with the owner. I was somewhat surprised that he called back within about 30 minutes and promised a tech would respond in the morning, between 9 and 11. I gave him the model number and serial number of the unit so the tech could pick up the part(s) before arriving. Long story short, they delivered as promised. The tech sounded a bit unfriendly on the phone when he first called in the morning, but when he arrived he was friendly and professional and not only replaced the fan blades but replaced the motor as well. He took quite a bit of time and did a nice job and cleaned up afterwards. Maybe we were one of the lucky ones, but I thought the service provided by Schmidt's deserved a good rating - they came through for us when we needed them.
