I really don't know where to start so I guess I'll admonish myself first.
Shame on me for not trying Andiamo Bistro before today. I used to live just up the street, passed by here on my way to work for over a year and went to Goldman's Deli in the same plaza on many occasions. I always thought I should give Andiamo a try and I'm glad I finally did.
The Groupon is what finally got us there and it was more than worth it. We made our reservation for a Sunday night and arrived shortly after they opened. We were the second ones there and at first I was concerned they weren't busier. No need to worry though, things picked up as the evening progressed. All throughout the evening the owner, who also waited on us, gave us great service. There were several regular customers she greeted with open arms and a hug as they arrived.
I started with a glass of Chianti which I thoroughly enjoyed. Next up was an order of Calamari and Stracciatella Soup. The Calamari was cooked to perfection and according to my partner the soup was better than Nick's. That says something because Nick's Stracciatella is very good.
For my entree I chose the Eggplant Parm and my partner decided on the Chicken Parm. Again both dishes were great. If you're looking for authentic home-cooked Italian food made with love Andiamo should be on your list!
Now on to address some of my fellow yelpers reviews. First, who the heck goes out to dinner and doesn't even have a few bucks to pay a small tab in cash? Maybe I'm old school, but I've always known cash to be king. Plus, if you know you're going out to dinner wouldn't it make sense to have a little cash? Just sayin... Second, the only aromas I smelled were from the wonderful food coming from the kitchen. Lastly how anyone could compare Andiamo to a chain is just unfathomable.
Great service, excellent food, reasonable prices and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll be back!
