Went there looking for a bird. Not necessarily to take home right away but to see if there was one who would like me enough to want to come home with me. The first thing I was hit with was about donating money.
Ok I was ok with it at first, but then it seemed like they kept bringing it up to me. Then there was a gal there, I cant remember her name. But I think she may have been a volunteer, any way, I had over heard talk of the prices of the birds and some even being used for breeding.
Ok, if you are a "rescue" why are you breeding? But it could have been hearsay.
So I met a few really awesome birds.
I was informed they do home checks. Great Im all for that. I asked if we could do one early and that way by the time I find a bird that I like, and likes me, we can already have had the process started. Well I was told when I put money down for a bird then we could do the home check. Alright?
I guess money is on the mind. I get that rescues need funding. But you should also make it seem like you care about the birds. Im sorry, maybe it was an off day or something. But I just didn't like the pressure...
