  • This review is for the CMC Pineville maternity center. All three of our children were born in Pineville: 2009, 2012, and 2015. All three experiences were joyful and very positive. I doubt there are many maternity centers that compete with the overall patient experience of Pineville. The nursing staff is top shelf in both skills and caring, as said by my wife who is a ER/trauma RN. We both really like the format, from the floorplan to the culture of the staff. The staff excel at anticipating needs without being intrusive or overbearing. Baby and mom were always very comfortable. A unique item for Pineville is how natural births stay in the same room from start to finish. We've lived in many cities and have never seen that with any of our friends' births. The rooms are comfortable, large, well appointed. I believe all rooms have a small private patio for enjoying warmer days outside (no babies outside though - it sets off alarms). We preferred to keep baby in the room during our stays (~2 nights). This seems to be the popular route as the nursery is quite nice and rather empty at most times. A nice ancillary service is the nearby CMC childbirth education and lactation services. The lactation consultant provided some great advice to help reverse too much weight loss in our firstborn. For Dads, the murphy bed is comfortable enough. There's wifi for downloading a movie when things slow down. Viet-Thai noodles, Showmars, Cookout, and Starbucks are all very close if you want to grab food from outside. The staff are very friendly in welcoming your family and friends to visit. Nap time is 2-4p.
