Came on a Monday afternoon- not very busy as compared to La Banquise 2 days before at about the same time in the afteroon. This place is 'fancier' than La Banquise- more of a 'Moxie" vibe rather than a "Perkins' vibe.
We decided on a 'make your own' poutine option. The house fries (ecrases) was a nice change to regular fries- The had nice potato flavour, maintained their crispiness towards the end and also maintained their heat- one has to appreciate hot fries at the end of the plate. We had their meat sauce option- very meaty- reminded us of a non-tomato based meat sauce. Cheese curds weren't overly abundant, but there was enough to satisfy- the good thing- we mixed in mozarella which made everything deliciously stringy. The curds were half melted which was also a nice change to cold curds coated with sauce. Actually the temperature of the whole plate was rather pleasantly hot rather than just warm- who really wants warm poutine when piping hot is an option. We ordered the small size to share- which was decent- the poutine was tasty enought that had we ordered the larger size, we probably would've finished it. $13.50- not as well priced as LaBanquise, but it wasn't the same thing.
Oh yes, very good burgers- the garlic aioli made the difference between OK and GREAT.
Would need to go back and order some different things ... it was that good.
