| - Oh, the High Roller! I finally took a ride and had a great time.
Now, to me, it's a tad bit overrated, however, I'm a local and can be quite biased. Plus, I seen views of Vegas from the sky, so it takes a lot to wow me. Before taking a ride, I happen to come across a blogger that completely hated the High Roller and had all negative things to say. I found it humorous at first, but now that I've experienced it for myself, that blogger must have had just one single bad experience... or maybe he just sucks at life and can't have a good time. I don't know.
The cabins/pods are super roomy, not overcrowded and have the A/C on blast. Thank goodness. They move rather slowly and feel incredibly safe. No bumping around or anything along those lines. The full trip takes about 40 minutes. You're allowed to visit the bar for one beverage before hopping on. Locals get a sweet discount.. 15/ea, so that was a fun bonus. The cabins don't stop, so be prepared to slowly but carefully step into the cabin.. it will keep moving. There's a few attendants there to assist you with stepping on and don't let me frighten you, it's moving REALLY slowly. Slower than the speed of a ski lift.
My only complaint would be the lack of seating. There were a couple of women that took up the seats and that was about it. I didn't mind standing for the full 40 mins taking pictures, etc as the view was fabulous! Something tells me that some of these cabins have the works... maybe a bar, better seating, etc.. I guess it just depends on the price and if you're planning a party.
Great experience! I highly recommend for all visitors to take a trip. Feel free to bring the kids! The price is definitely worth it!
