  • Absolutely the worst vet experience. We have been patients of Banfield for years and all 3 pets we have are on insurance plans. We lived in different states but this location is by far the worst. On Friday, 16 Dec, I made an appt at 1600 and was seen by a dr (don't remember her name) because my cat was severely constipated. She ran X-rays and came to conclusion that he needed to take lactulose 3 times a day and he should be able to pass stool and that enema wouldn't help. I followed the instructions for a day but my cat was only getting worse. He stopped eating/drinking or moving. I called them Saturday night and they said if it doesn't get better bring him in on Sunday. Sunday, 18 Dec, I called them and they refused to take the cat in, told me to give him Miralax and that if I'm worried about him that I should go to ER for pets. I asked why they wouldn't take him in and the receptionist said they are mainly preventative care. ???????? Since when?????? Long story short, Surprise location took him in immediately. Thank God that people like Dr. Mansfield take their job seriously and truly care. We left our cat there for the entire day and after a combination of treatments he was able to pass the stool. The Dr. said he would never pass it on his own and that lactulose was only making him more uncomfortable at that point. If not for her and her team my baby wouldn't be alive. Shame on the Happy Valley location! Will never be going back.
