  • Flowers were the one part of my wedding that I just didn't care about at all. I'm not a flower person, so I wasn't planning on putting much into it. I had a photo of what I wanted for my bouquet, as well as a photo of what I wanted for my bridesmaids' bouquet. One of my bridesmaids and I had a meeting at the florist to discuss what I wanted. The person we met with thought it was appropriate to tell us how a few weeks prior he messed up a wedding because he was supposed to have bouquets for 4 bridesmaids but only made a bouquet for 1 bridesmaid. We thought it was interesting that he wanted to tell us about his screw up. About a week later, I received a proposal via email for my flowers. The proposal showed only 1 groomsman and we had 6. It also included flowers for the flower girl, even though I told him I didn't have a flower girl. I replied immediately via email and addressed the things that were incorrect. A week went by, and I hadn't received a response. Another few days went by, still no response. I decided to send another email. The florist replied and said that they would send me a new proposal via snail mail. So I get the new proposal, and the flowers magically became completely different ones. I decided to just schedule another face to face meeting to get this all accurate for good. I took the same bridesmaid with me to the next meeting. I gave them a picture of exactly what I was looking for in regards to my bouquet, as well as another photo of what I wanted for the bridesmaids bouquet. It was VERY important to me that my bouquet was extremely small, so I made sure to stress that. It ended up being that the flowers I wanted were more expensive than what my original cost was, so I gladly paid the difference before leaving our meeting. A few days before my wedding, I received an email stating that I owed them money for the different in flowers...The EXACT amount of money that I paid them during our face to face meeting. Luckily I still had the receipt, so I replied with the order number, date, time, and amount that was paid. They replied back saying they were sorry, and thanked me for my business, but couldn't even spell my name correctly. Upon arrival to my wedding venue, I was very nervous to see the bouquets. My bouquet looked like the picture I provided, but it was HUGE. I told them a million times that I needed it to be very small. One of my bridesmaids used to do flowers, so she was able to dissect the bouquet to make it smaller. The bridesmaids bouquet looked nothing like the photo I provided. Luckily, one of my bridesmaids was able to completely fix it. She cut all of the stems and even rewrapped them with ribbon. The bouquets were abnormally tiny. I'm so thankful that my bridesmaid was able to fix this mess of a situation. A mess that we never should have had to deal with in the first place. What a disappointment. And to think that I don't even like flowers!
