  • Last summer, our air conditioner broke down yet again (see my review of Omega Air), late on a Saturday afternoon with the temperature around 110 degrees. I contacted every A/C contractor listed in the Angie's List magazine by e-mail, concentrating on those with service awards. Alaskan called me at 8:00 AM Sunday morning, and that morning a sales rep was in my (hot) kitchen showing me what they had to offer. We bought a Maytag A/C unit, and we also decided to replace the heating unit, since it was almost 20 years old. The installers were very prompt and professional, and we have been very pleased with both the equipment and the service.
