We've been to the zoo many times over the past 5 yrs. My kids (3 & 5) get a kick out of looking at the animals and you can get quite up close and personal with the animals which is nice.
In my opinion there are some pros:
*Free Parking (and lots of it)
*Short Admission Lines (takes very little waiting to get in)
*Clean
*Reasonably Priced Admission & Food
*Large
*Decent Selection of Animals
*Beautiful Aquarium & Outstanding Penguin Vestibule
and cons:
*Food has gone exponentially down hill over the past few years
*Many of the animals are elusive or missing
*Lack of variety in animals
*Small confines for some of the animals which leads to pacing and agitation
*It almost never fails that one of the escalators is not working and we are forced to take the elevator which can lead to a long line of patrons waiting for one of two elevators
Overall, it's worth going and the kids will especially enjoy the playground and aquarium which makes it all worth while. I do think that whatever they changed about the food (whether it's a new vendor, etc) should seriously be reconsidered as I heard patron and patron complaining as to how awful the food was the last time we went.
