  • I actually liked the atmosphere of this quaint divey restaurant. It reminded me of my 20s when I used to go to mexico for the day, or even for the weekend. Growing up in San Diego, the border was a quick 10-15 minute drive. We came here because it was featured on a television show. The thing to order was the Del Ray Torta. So we ordered that and the King Steak Tacos. I thought the Del Ray was ok. Each of the meats in it were tasty in its own right, BUT there was too much going on. Like a pretty girl overly made up or like if you got all flavors of ice cream and blended it all together. Tastes and looks good but not distinctive. I took a few bites, was like..OK..yea.. um, sure..its good..another bite..hmph..nod.. I guess i was really trying to like it. Now the King Steak tacos Suprised me! A little on the greasy side, they were tasty and filling, with a price that was pretty decent for the amount of food on my plate. I finished every last bite! Service was indifferent. Neither friendly nor unfriendly; They were there to do their job, which they did efficiently. It was pretty busy, but things came out at a timely manner. I don't think any of the waitresses eat the food here. Every single one of them were in great shape, even the older ones. I was envious. I would return to try out another torta, and perhaps one of their delicious looking drinks.
