  • Where can you get a handmade donut made with locally sourced ingredients... ah yes... Your Moms Donuts. Don't confuse this with having your mom make an ill-fated attempt at baking donuts in your home kitchen. Your Moms Donuts is Charlotte's only Farm to Table Donut Shop and uses NC organically grown flour, pastured dairy and eggs, has weekly and seasonal flavor changes. We sampled an assortment of flavors before the storefront opened and have been back regularly since :) The first donut we tried was the classic Glazed Donut. Every bite was light, fluffy, not too sweet, and baked to perfection. Next up was the only cake based donut in the bunch, the Pumpkin Cake Donut. Despite the Pumpkin Glaze, Pumpkin Buttercream, and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds the cake based donut wasn't overly Pumpkin at all. The pumpkin flavors were present but subtle and blended together to make a perfect Fall/Winter donut. Ella LOVED the Caramel Glaze with Espresso filling donut (I hate anything coffee). Ella noted it reminded her of going to Starbucks and dipping her donut in a caramel latte. The Mint Pastry Crème Donut came topped with a Chocolate Ganache and Candied Mint leaves. The fresh mint was evident but subtle in the pastry creme and the ganache was delicious. Last but not least... the Rosemary Apple with Apple Cider Glaze and a thickened Apple Jam. The rosemary was faint, the glaze was sweet, and the apple jam was mouthwatering. Your Moms Donuts features the only handmade locally sourced Farm to Table donuts in the Charlotte area. The donuts are big, they sell out early, and they change their flavors often... if you want big box donuts there's a DD or a KK close to your house. If you want to try something new, this is a locally owned business that deserves your support and easily gets our seal of approval.
