| - Scammer Alert! HomeLIfe Home Warranty has sent Expert Mechanical to repair our AC, fix an electrical outlet problem and a plumbing problem. EVERY TIME, they said the claim was not going to be covered by our home warranty. Turns out they are owned by the HomeLife Warranty company. So, they came out fixed our AC (after charging us $65 warranty service call plus $150 same day charge). It died the next day. They came back 3 days later, said we had not properly maintained the unit and would not cover the warranty claim unless we paid them $320 to clean the coils. Now, let me explain my hubby worked as an AC tech for 10 yrs and knew the compressor was bad and the unit was old, it really wasn't worth fixing. This was an attempt to scam us out of $320 on a unit that was bad. We jumped thru the hoops they laid out, paid another company $120 to clean the coils, sent them the receipt, hoping they were gonna do the right thing. Guys come back out, for another service fee of course, and now they tell me this 12 yr old unit has improperly installed duct work and its not covered under the warranty. TOTAL SCAMMERS. Truth is, they don't want to cover an expensive repair/replacement and Adam (the tech that came out yesterday) is finding an excuse for them. THIS IS FRAUD. Save yourself a headache, call a reputable company.
