  • Thank God for Uber. If there is a city that needs this service, it's Las Vegas. I have a friend who works dispatch at a cab company, and he told me that the reason people have to wait 2 or 3 hours for a cab is that drivers won't leave the Strip because they make much more money there for 2-block trips. I understand that, but people who live here need service, too. Uber provides that service. In fact, my friend put the Uber app on his wife's phone and told her to use Uber instead of local cab services. Considering he works for a cab company, that's a pretty strong recommendation for Uber.
