I have only visited this restaurant, because my father likes it. I have been there 3 times, once each in September 09, 10, and 11 (my father has been there more often). In the three times I've been here, they've missed calling my name twice. And the fact that they now use the vibrating pager didn't help. When I finally went up to the desk after 45 minutes (after being told 25 minutes and seeing people who came in after us get seated), I went up to the desk. I asked how much longer until I was seated. The girl looked at her list and said "You've already been sit". I held up the pager and said "I still have this in my hand so obviously I haven't been sit". When I mentioned this was the 2nd time out of 3 this had happened, I got what amounted to a "S Happens" as a reply.
As for the restaurant, the kitsch overwhelms. The service was great although we could tell that our waiter was tired of singing "Happy Birthday" as it seems we were the only people in the restaurant who weren't having birthdays that evening. The food is average, nothing special. I'm sure my dad will want to go next year when we visit Toronto, and I'll go as a good son but unwillingly.
