| - After multiple weeks of craving a churrascaria or..rodízio....we flip-flopped between Texas de, which was a twenty minute drive, with a birthday coupon for $25 off...and the five minute drive to Via....we made same-day resos on OpenTable at Via for 3 @ 7:15pm on Friday night.
Hello beautiful unabashed protein fix!!
We were sat next to a wall and asked to be moved to a different table. They easily honored our request, even the Hostess helped us move our drinks to a center situated table.
We all ordered the Sterling level.
The cheesy rolls, pão de queijo ... ehh, I have certainly had much better. They were a bit too gummy and seriously under baked inside.
The salad bar, again...ehh. Much to be desired. As a ranch dressing fiend, it did taste housemade which was nice. But many items from the salad bar were overly and unnecessarily salty, imo. The beef carpaccio has two dabs of green olive puree, not sure why. I was told the lobster bisque was adequate, not great.
Service -- really was very good. All of the servers, runners and the meat skewer guys were helpful, informative and stopped to check on us the entire evening in a not-so intrusive way.
Looking at their menu posted online, we pretty much had every option at some point in the evening. Including leg of lamb -decent enough, baby lamb chops, sooo cute, but overcooked. Brazilian pork was moist if you asked not for the crispy part, melted mozz - all of the good parts of a pizza.
Sides were okay, mashed potatoes, asparagus, broccoli, mushrooms, fried bananas. The spinach was not completely wilted, perhaps that was a cost savings procedure?
We all opted for dessert and espressos and cappuccino...passion fruit mousse - not my thing, but not terrible. Flan, no caramelized sugar sauce, but again not terrible. Chocolate mousse....slightly disappointing. It is one of my few dessert weaknesses...almost could not taste the pudding that was definitely whipped in.
In all, disappointed especially because of the proximity.
Brunch or happy hour seem to have better reviews, perhaps would have been a better visit. :-/
