The Days Inn is located just south (west) of 40 and interchange at Cote-Vertu. The location, let's just say it's in Saint-Laurent but it's also right off a ramp where the 40 (Trans Canada) meets Cote-Vertu in a non standard loop de loop. To access this western side of Cote-Vertu you have to come off the interchange ramp going west (ouest) and right after coming off the ramp you have to make an immediate right. Cote-Vertu is divided at this part of the road which is understandable because this elevated roundabout/ramp makes it so you can't make a left into the driveway if you're going east (est). Literally the only way into this business is going west on Cote-Vertu and coming right off that ramp. That being said the only way OUT of this business is also going west (turning right) and if you need to go east you have to do a U turn at the next opening before the intersection which isn't that far. Be careful turning right! Drivers coming off the ramp can be going fast and they're coming off a curve so they may be hard to see.
So now that we've established the location and the roads leading to the hotel how about the parking? There's temporary parking just to the left of the entrance which I suppose could also be used for patrons going to the pizza restaurant in the lobby. There's a gate to get into the parking lot that will just open, no card required. To leave you need to hit the intercom and somebody opens it. That's about it. Your vehicle plates must be registered at the time when you check in so this is their way of making sure your car belongs in the lot but for getting in and out it's not difficult. I suppose the gate is there just to prevent people from attempting to park that aren't staying but either way it's not an inconvenience.
The lobby is located just to the right of the main entrance through the automatic sliding doors while the pizza restaurant in the lobby is located to the left. The elevator is directly behind the check in and for what it's worth that elevator is tiny. I was alone in the elevator and only had a shoulder back and my notebook bag and it felt rather tight and I was alone. I was on the 3rd floor otherwise I would have just taken the stairs. The hotel is only 3 floors.
The room was comfortable and so was the bed. The room seemed a bit more spacious then from where I was just the other night (Comfort Inn in Boucherville). The environmental controls are on the unit itself by the window and it worked well keeping the temperature constant and for the most part if was much quieter than other places which have noisier units. Little things that show this place is a bit dated however such as cracks in the walls, small gashes here or there, the table and desk chair were a bit worn. It's nothing major just aesthetic. A touch up of paint or plaster here or there would fix things up a bit. Besides the slight visuals of wear and tear the place and room seem more than OK. I noticed when leaving there was a cart with paint cans outside so for what it's worth it seems they're doing touch up and maintenance so they are keeping things looking up to date or least they are trying.
This hotel is very close to Dorval airport and they offer a free shuttle bus. The staff seem very friendly and helpful.
