| - I wish I could write a good review for O'mari. After all, upon visiting the little Italian shop with my husband, we both found it really cute and clean, and the clerk was amicable and kind. The pasta, freshly cut on the spot, looked excellent too. We were full of hope for the evening, excited to get back home and cook the fresh fettuccine and pesto we had just bought!
Alas the food made us both very sick, and since it was the only meal we had that evening, the culprit could only have been the food we purchased at O'mari. The bathroom was occupied all night either by husband or myself, both suffering from cramps and shivers. I'm unsure if it was the pasta or the pesto, but one of the two caused us a mild food poisoning.
Had it not been for the sickness which followed immediately the consumption of the meal, I would have reported that the pasta was a bit sturdy, even after cooking it a minute longer than advised by the clerk. It tasted good nonetheless. The pesto was oily, very green and a tad bland, but good enough. In terms of taste, I would have given O'mari 3 stars; good, but not great. I have had better, but always appreciate fresh and authentic pasta.
It is really too bad that I must give it a single star, but food poisoning is serious business and something I would rather avoid at all costs. Hence I feel called to publish this warning for future clients. If your stomach is made of steel, you might still want to give it a try! May the force be with you then.
