| - Off the bat, I want to say that my review has absolutely nothing to do with the food I ordered. The fish and chips were phenomenal and honestly, the best I've had outside of London.
Unfortunately, I don't think I will return due to the poor service we received on Sunday.
We met another couple at the restaurant who had already been seated and the waitress took our drink orders. I had been craving a bloody mary and saw that they were on happy hour. After the order was placed it was about 7-10 minutes before my boyfriend's beer arrived even though there were only about 4 or 5 other tables occupied.
I glanced up at the waitress wondering where my drink was and she explained to me that while they had all of the things they needed to make a bloody mary, they were out of well vodka. And she could have them make me a bloody mary if I still wanted it, but I would not be receiving happy hour price.
I indicated that I would still like my drink (I didn't even receive the water that I ordered) but after she walked away, I couldn't figure out why I was being charged for the restaurants poor planning - if you run out of well vodka and still have 30 minutes left in your happy hour, you should serve the next vodka you have in stock and plan better next time.
My drink was prepared and sat at the bar until the waitress came to take our order. I hadn't seen the drink sitting there until I looked at the waitress like, "Am I going to get my drink?" and she found it. One of the guys at our table told me it had just been sitting there. At this point we had been at the restaurant for over 20 minutes and I still hadn't gotten the water I ordered.
Food took a long time to come out and while we were waiting, a guy from the back of the restaurant stood to roll silverware at the bar. He kept laughing at the stories we were telling at the table and made VERY strange and uncomfortable eye contact with me and the other female at the table every time we glanced up at the television above him. Eventually we made a point to glance elsewhere.
By the end of our meal, our waitress was eating her dinner next to our table behind the bar and dropping food down the front of her.
That being said, the food was incredible. Fish and chips cooked to perfection and the tartar sauce was quite good as well. This would absolutely be my go-to restaurant for fish and chips if the whole experience wasn't so strangely off-putting.
