I came in for my second time after receiving a great SNS manicure from Hannah (I believe her name was) a few weeks ago. It had been over a year at least since I had a manicure and Hannah was wonderful, friendly and talkative and taught me all about SNS which is what I came there for. She told me SNS is new and healthier for your nails than gel (which is the only other type of manicure I've gotten aside from just regular polish, I've never had acrylics) and that you still soaked them off like gel but you don't have to scrape it and damage the nail. Well I was very disappointed when I came in Sunday evening and the gentleman popped of my nails using an acrylic nail he pulled out of his box of new ones and then PUT IT BACK IN. So naturally my nails were peeled and thin. My third finger on my right hand also had a small brown spot near the nail. I asked him what it was as I defitniely didn't have it before. He whispered very quietly "A fungus when water gets under the nail." At this point I was freaking out. He used his drill bit that came out of an old cough drop tin can and "cleaned it" but it was still there to me. Then he put that same drill bit back. Never in any sanitizing bin or anything. The color I picked out and came in there wanting was not available so he picked something else, drilled off what he didn't "pop" off, never was acetone used. Then cut, buffed and filed my nails like usual. He finished with the dip powder and left me sitting there with my nails in front of the dryer for 10 minutes as he was in the back. At that point I assumed I was done and we got up to go pay. He comes out and tells me to sit to put cuticle oil on and that was it. No lotion massage like last time which I assumed was in the $5 extra I had to pay for the manicure. And a few of the nails are bumpy and not smooth, they have rough spots which I didn't have after the first one. I went home and looked up about the nail fungus and it says not to put any polish over it and to see a doctor to treat it. It was very small but it still bothers me as I've never had this. Then today, less than 24 hours after I had them done, I went to turn on my water faucet and my thumb nail chips!! In the three weeks I had the first manicure my nails did nothing of the sort!! I went in after work today and the guy was apologetic but it took 5 minutes to search the entire place for the same powder and then as we are almost done and it's drying he goes to touch it to check if it's drying and it's not it stuck to his thumb and caused a sting so he had to rebuff it off and paint again. So annoying!!! And again, same drill bits from a dirty old cough drop tin can that never went in any solution! I had had the SNS manicure the first time to practice for my wedding in 5 weeks but I loved it so much I wanted to just keep it up. I'll be searching for a new place to get this done or only see Hannah. To also add, when I called on Sunday at 3:30 I was told to come in in half an hour. I checked in at 4pm and had to wait until 420 for someone to start.
