We did not know what to expect, this place is awesome! We have been to world class zoos & aquariums but this is unique. A beaver or puffin would be insignificant in those other places, but here, the are headliners and fascinating. We spent a lit of time watching the puffins surf the water jets-so whimsical. The penguins actually followed and mimicked the children-my daughter pulled her finger across the glass and the penguin followed, she flapped her hands & the bird flapped its wings-how fun! The new sloth exhibit is great. Those gentle animals are fascinating (judging by the 30-50 people just hanging around watching). Have you ever watched a beaver swim from an underwater vantage? It only needs 1 hind leg to propel around the pond. There are lots of hands on and immersion activities as well. Do not miss the Naturalias room in the basement. The Symphony of Life show was fun but you MUST obtain your free tickets when you purchase your entrance tickets or you will be out of luck.
Take time to explore this gem, you will be glad. Next, the Botanical Gardens and Insectarium (the combo tickets can be used on different days, within 30 days).
