  • With such predominantly good reviews I tried to keep my expectations low so I wouldn't be disappointed. I went with three friends a bit after noon on a nice Saturday when it was in the low 80's outside. The place was packed and we were told the wait would be around 20 minutes. I am uncomfortable standing for long periods of time, and that makes me cranky, but is also not the fault of the restaurant. After reading reviews I was expecting a wait. It may have been a bit longer than 20 minutes, but not unreasonably so. I dislike crowded places and commented to my friends that unless the food was awesome, I could only foresee coming back for takeout. Within minutes of being seated and before we could place our order, the power went out... (entire block, not just an internal problem). Long story short, the entire staff epitomized grace under pressure. We were told what to expect and that the temperature might start to get uncomfortable with no AC and the kitchen continuing to cook with gas, and that our dishes would be served as soon as completed, perhaps one at a time, so they would be fresh and hot. The food was all delicious, our server and hostess were phenomenal, and this turned out to be one of the best dining experiences in a while. I had the rolled scallion pancakes with sliced beef that had such a tasty sauce, and the pork soup noodles. Also sampled the crab and pork soup noodles and veggie soup noodles. All good. My friends, all much less grumpy people than I am, were also very pleased with their meals and we were all wowed by the service. We'll be back!
