| - Normally, swapping wheels is something I'd do myself. But it was minus-something-degrees outside, the ground was covered with snow, and I don't have a garage. It was thus that I found myself at this NTB, where I was assured that I could stop in and pay $15 and wait half an hour to have my winter wheels swapped on.
In reality, it took more like an hour, and would have been longer had I not noticed that my car was parked out front with the job finished and asked why I was still waiting (spoiler: they didn't have a good answer). The task did, however, cost only $15 including tax.
The waiting area consisted of a few old chairs, an overly-loud TV with no remote in sight, and some stale coffee in little styrofoam cups.
They did bag my other wheels and didn't make a mess of anything, so I can't really complain too much--it's a chain mechanic place, after all. Just don't expect great service, and I don't think I'd trust them with anything more than tire rotation or swapping a battery.
