  • This is one of those areas that I have a really hard time writing bad reviews about. Any hospital or doctors office that is in the business of seeing to the health of others I take very seriously. The reason that I take this so seriously is that I have been dealing with server Chronic Pain for the past 9years. I wont bore you with all the causes but it should suffice to say that I destroyed both my back and elbows at work back in 04. Since then I truly cant tell you exactly how many specialists that I have been sent to see but it has been a lot. The really big problem is that every time you go to see a new specialist, they want a new MRI or a new CT Scan or even worse, other types of radioactive studies. That was my case. I had so many of them that now pretty much glow in the dark. Over the past 9 years there have only been a few constants in my medical world and that was the fact that my White Blood County was always high, my C-Reactive Protein Levels were always high and my sodium and electrolyte levels were really low. I have had the please of dealing with C-Diff 6 different time, including right now for example. Now, it would seem to me that since I have seen so many doctors and specialists that at least one of them would have bothered to check into the reason why my WBC has been so high for so many years and the other constant issues have been screwing with my system for so very long but if you did, you would be dead wrong. Not one of those million dollar plus a year specialists even bothered to ask about it let alone investigate it. Then, my wife and I moved from the mountains back down do civilization and as a resit, had to find a new family doctor. I was with them for about 2 months with this one gal who swore she new everything yet also did nothing even though she actually asked about the White Count. One day I went there expecting to see her but she was gone. This very nice young gal came up and introduced herself as the one that would be taking over my managing care. Within a week she had a huge problem with the White Blood Count and referred me to an ON Oncologist /Hematologist. He did some tests and came to the conclusion that I had Leukemia but I could tell that he was not telling me the whole story. I decided that I needed a second opinion and that is when I started calling CTCA. I called them 4 days in a row and never got a call back. Then on the 5th call, I got this guy who cared about nothing other then my insurance. I told him that I had Medicare with an Advantage plan. He told me that Phoenix (which is the closest hospital to me did not even take Medicare and that the other ones only took Medicare if you were a resident of the city that the hospital is on. I am sorry but this is not an example of the caring people they portray on TV am actually thankful that I did not end up there are I have since talked to quite a few people who have lost loved ones in CTCA despite having been told that everything would be fine and that their cancer was easily treatable. Between the horrible customer service (I am sorry but in a hospital environment customer service and attitude are as successful at treating disease as are anything else. I would stay as far away as you can. Just find a large teaching hospital and I can pretty promise you that you will not only be treated better by the staff but you will have a far better chance of walking out instead of going in a hearst. Fear that place!!!
