  • Food: 3.5 Stars Service: 4.5 Stars Atmosphere: 5 Stars Scarpetta used to be my favorite Italian restaurant in town, but from my recent visit, it seems like it isn't the case no more. I believe it has a lot to do with Scott Conant is no longer involved with this place. We came in as party of nine and was lucky to get a private room/chefs table with the view of kitchen and fountain view. The service was decent and fast. I appreciate our server's Mike who provided honest opinions/suggestions. Mike was actually our server a few years back when we had our dinner party here as well. As soon as we got our bread basket, I realize the quality isn't there. I used to talk about their bread baskets to my friends since I love bread so much. Loved the variety and the warm and fresh bread. It's not the warm and fresh bread anymore. It's cold and a-okay bread. The eggplant dressing for the bread isn't the same either. The flavor was way off. Thankfully, most of the appetizers and entrees that we ordered were still decent. Although my friend felt like there's less lobster in Pici now. The texture of the pasta are still great thankfully. Another let down was the dessert, I used to love their dessert. The banana soufflĂ© and coconut panna cotta in guava soup were so good. The hotel took over the dessert department. Beside the cheesecake that our server recommended, all other dessert that we got were not impressive. Hopefully Scarpetta will improve and get back to the quality that they used to have.
