| - Overall wonderful experience. Cons: Took 1 star off for the mildew smell and very poor ventilation in my guest room. The ac was off when we arrived ans it was wuite warm. We dropped our bags, turned on the AC to 70 degrees and left for the afternoon. When we got back 5 hours later the room was still warm. We lowered the ac to the lowest available option 65 degrees which should really have made the room super frosty but nothing. We could feel the air from the vent but it just wasnt circulating properly. We moved the vents somewhat and it helped a bit but still was warm for a 100 degree day. Westin is known for their heavenly beds...eh not in this guest room. The bed wasnt heavenly at all. It wasnt the worst I've ever experienced and we only stayed one night so we made due.
Pros: The resort has plenty to do for families which we loved. The restaurant options were very nice and staff was very friendly everywhere we went. I hate paying resort fees but for the first time ever a resort fee that is actually a great value! Kayaking, awesome slide by the pool, basketball courts, beach area, bottled water, Wi-Fi and fitness facility all included. Last night the hotel provided a "dive-in" movie for families at 8pm, very nice touch, I didnt know who was more excited myself or my daughter! Only bummer was they promoted smores by the pool via a fire pit but didnt have the pit going last night, we even bought 2 smores kits from the cafe for it. The landscaping was well kept and the hotel lobby area was so beautiful and full of character! I look forward to coming back, hopefully the rooms will get some dollars for renovation or maybe we got an older room I dont know, but for 1 evening it was fine.
