  • Churn reminds me what it might have been like back in the '50s when we visited the local ice cream parlor for a malted milkshake from our favorite soda jerk, and then transformed into the future to discover fancy flavors like Madagascar Vanilla, Blueberry Yogurt and Whiskey Toffee Almond. The goodies, wrapped treats, and candy toys are all there, and in easy reach of the kiddos, so be prepared, but also be prepared to go through that "my eyes where bigger than my stomach" feel, because the servings are generous and the sweetness way up there, where you might not expect. Of course, you ARE in a ice cream parlor! I got the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich with oatmeal cookie and vanilla, and really have to stuffed it down, even though I didn't have the room, but it was sooo good, and immediately gave me a sugar high that helped get me home for this early riser. Open late to round out the evening, and in a upcoming hipster area where the "cool kids" hang, trendy and upbeat, right along Central Avenue.
