  • Don't do it! That's my advice to you. I arrived at McCarren airport just before 2pm. I got to my hotel at 4:30. Why? AVIS! Remember their motto "they try harder". Yeah, not really. In fact, they don't try at all. We practically had a fight break out in line due to the frustration of the wait time. I was in line for one hour and 15 minutes. When I first got in line, they had 3 agents. One closed out after the customer he had and left for the day. After waiting in line for 35 minutes, another agent leaves and takes a break. Then the 3rd agent walked away from a customer and someone in line screamed "are you kidding!...now nobody's working". That agent did return after about 5 minutes in the back room. People were screaming and asking for the manager (the coward apparently stayed in the back and ignored it). If for some reason they offer some sort of incredible "offer you can't refuse", I would STRONGLY suggest you become a member of their club so you can bypass the line and go right to your car. They obviously couldn't care less about their customers. I have never seen an organization so poorly managed.
