My hubby and I are Diamond members and stay at the Rio for the past 15 years at least 4or 5 times a year.It has slowly started to fall apart. The rooms definitely in need of renovation.Granted they are all suites which means larger than the average room. This time the elevators were extremely crowded. We were on the 16th floor of the Ipanema tower and Thursday early evening we went down the elevator and it stopped at almost every floor to load us up and when we got to the bottom there was a line of about 25 people waiting to get on the elevators which meant not all of them were working. They used to have the cocktail waiters and waitresses pop up and sing and dance but the last 3 times we have been there none. Usually the diamond vip check in is very friendly but this lady was a sourpuss. Not to mention the menu in our favorite All American grill has changed. No more shrimp for my hubby and no more French onion soup for me.The pillows in the room have always been horrible,Like 12 x 12 square bricks.Oh and the bartenders in the Ibar are snooty like they are working in some high class bar.The two bald Filipino guys. Oh and yes no more shuttles to the strip unless they are having a tournament.I told hubby I think this is the last time we stay here.He says It isn't so bad...only because he is familiar with the valet and the casino. But you've lost us Rio.It was fun while it lasted. Also in 3 days we saw no one getting paid off and we spent thousands of dollars with no return.Boooooo
