The High Roller is a tourist trap. Now that I have ridden the High Roller four times, I feel like I have developed an objective view of this - a high priced gimmick with quickly diminishing returns on repeat visits.
This huge carousel does one full rotation in about thirty minutes. Having gone both day and night, the night views are definitely more spectacular but you will have to pay a slightly higher price. Recommend boarding on the right front side of the pod for the best views of the strip.
What really disappointed me on the my recent ride was that the video sequence had changed. Before they had a corny guy talk you through the ride with fun facts and silly jokes with a decent soundtrack. It has been replaced by generic music with nothing except something telling your height. It felt so impersonal and lazy.
Recommend checking websites for deals on this. If you don't find a good deal right for you, make sure to buy online to save a few dollars. Most of them are for the booze version of the ride, but I honestly do not see people getting more than two drinks especially with the number of people they let on and the number of bartenders.
Overall, I would recommend the High Roller MAYBE once if you are curious but go at night and look at websites for deals before you go.
