To begin I didn't get a chance to have my hair done. I made an appointment for color, trim and blowout, these are substantial services. I arrived on time tho being new to the area it was difficult to find since basically it's in a huge outdoor mall.
I walked in with my 2 pups, 5 pounds and 6 pounds with noses peeking out of the leather handbags I carry them in. I have gone into hair salons in 6 states and never had an issue.
I walked in and said my name and "I have an appointment" and the manager looked up, failed to greet me but interrupted me mid sentence and immediately launched into a tirade:
"You can't bring those dogs in here. It's against the Arizona health code."
I said, "Excuse me, I've never had an issue with them in 6 states; they just sit on my lap; their feet never touch the floor."
She stared at me belligerently, waved her hand at me like she was shooing flies and said,
"I don't care if you have an appointment. They can't come in."
Again I tried,
"I have a carrier in the car I can go get it. I've taken them into restaurants in the carrier. Her answer?
" I don't care. They can't stay."
I turned around and walked out without another word. I made an appointment for the next day with a competitor where they greeted my pups in a carrier and myself with warmth and courtesy.
Here is a business with no idea of what customer service is or what meets the requirements of health codes. Thankfully even though they ruined my day, I didn't give them a chance to ruin my hair as well.
