  • We have a 2001 Ford F150 that was in the need of a new windshield so we scheduled an appointment to get the windshield repaired at Safelite in Madison, WI. We left the truck for the appointment and received a phone call within 15 minutes saying that they could not replace the windshield because of potential rusting under the visor that was on the pick up and we would need to take the truck to auto body shop for replacement. We took the time to take the truck to a reputable body shop and they told us it was likely that they just were not wanting to mess with the visor on the truck at Safelite and they saw no corrosion issues. We worked with another glass company in town and they had no issue replacing the windshield although they did mention that it took a bit longer due to the visor removal and replacement. The other company has earned a customer going forward and Safelite has lost any opportunity to do future work for us.
